Waxmyrtle Campground is a beloved annual destination for many, offering clean, spacious, and private sites with beautiful surroundings. Visitors enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, proximity to the beach, and helpful camp hosts, although some note noise from nearby ATV activity and the need for improved maintenance in certain areas. We had a great time. Only downside was this lady screaming at her unfriendly dog named Pickles the whole time. I also overheard someone report a theft to the camp host who said there have been a lot of thefts recently, so don’t leave anything out or unlocked that you’re not willing to lose if you leave the site.

Their was garbage in the campsite that had been there for sometime. The toilet paper ran out frequently. The host was off duty our entire visit.

Waxmyrtle is an outstanding campground located in a beautiful coastal forest and dune environment near the mouth of the Siltcoos river. There are some excellent hiking opportunities at the campground and nearby. The facilities at the campground are clean and well maintained and there are many excellent campsites to choose from. Of the three campgrounds located in the immediate area, Waxmyrtle has the least amount of noise from the ATV’s operating in the dunes just north of there. The only real thing I disliked was the height of the metal ring fire pits. It’s very difficult to enjoy a campfire because the rings are so deep and you can’t really see the flame. Also, it would be nice to have a source where at the campground or nearby where you can purchase firewood.

I was not aware it was reservation only as had not been there for a few years. Website/app could not send me password update link. Had to drive to town to make reservation.
Women's restroom had no water to sink & no water to outside drinking fountain

This is one of our favorite campgrounds on the central Oregon coast. The Siltcoos River is an amazing paddling paradise. I wish they would put in recycle stations for cans, bottles, etc.
