What Guests Are Saying
Waxmyrtle Campground is a beloved annual destination for many, offering clean, spacious, and private sites with beautiful surroundings. Visitors enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, proximity to the beach, and helpful camp hosts, although some note noise from nearby ATV activity and the need for improved maintenance in certain areas. Overall, it’s a great spot for families and outdoor enthusiasts, with plenty of recreational opportunities nearby.

Very pretty campsite. The trail to the beach (1 mi) was a pleasant hike. It is interesting that the only way to reserve and pay is online, but you have to drive to the beach to get a cell signal. The only complaint would be that I could hear the loud music from the OHV area to the North. At least it ended at bedtime.

Clean campground, good facilities, and beautiful hikes nearby. We loved that there weren't ATVs allowed on this section of the beach, due to the snowy plover reserve that limits human impact. The Siltcoos Kayak rentals were wonderful and a fun way to spend a day. I considered rating this site low to avoid promoting more traffic to it, but I couldn't bring myself to lying about how great it is. Definitely a gem. However, not a great spot for dogs/dog owners as you can't walk them on the beach (due to snowy plover habitat). We don't have a dog, but if we did I would have been disappointed by that. Otherwise, what a wonderful spot!

Waxmyrtle is a nice little campground. The site we had was quite private. The whole campground was quiet with the occasional exception of low level ohv noise. There's a beautiful little trail right next to the Siltcoos river, and other trails accessible without driving anywhere. Right across the 101 is another nice hiking trail. Also, less than a half mile up the access road is Lodgepole, a put in site for kayaks.

In campsite 7, iur first night was fine, but the next day a large group moved in behind our site and these sites haveno trees or anything separating them, it was like they were in our lap. We moved a tent to try to get some space but it was hopeless.

There needs to be a better place to launch kayaks into the Siltcoos River. Site 2 needs a trail cut to the river.
