What Guests Are Saying
Waxmyrtle Campground is a beloved annual destination for many, offering clean, spacious, and private sites with beautiful surroundings. Visitors enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, proximity to the beach, and helpful camp hosts, although some note noise from nearby ATV activity and the need for improved maintenance in certain areas. Overall, it’s a great spot for families and outdoor enthusiasts, with plenty of recreational opportunities nearby.

Camphost was very friendly and helpful. The restrooms very clean and had flushing toilets. We chose a quiet spot at the back of the campground. We walked the 2 mi trail to the beach which was beautiful.

Stayed end of the weekend into the week and it was a very quiet campground. Plants provide nice barrier between sites. At night you can hear the ocean. As someone mentioned there is a trail to a beach about a mile out. One of the best campsites I have stayed at.

Camp host is very kind. We were staying for a baseball tournament and she allowed us to check out a little late as it was a Sunday and no one was coming in. We greatly appreciated that. Made it much easier to not have to pack up early in the morning and find a place to park the RV at the tournament.

I used to have good phone service at this campground. So I decided to wait until we got there to pick out a site since many were available and I wanted to find one had a good location with good sun for my Solar. then I had to leave the Campground to make my reservation. I do not like the new system with all the sites reservable, and no sites available on the first come first serve basis. Since this Campground is run by the forest service, I think there should be a way to pay at the Campground.

We have come back to this small campground 5 years in a row. It's a little place in paradise. Remember, showers are available down at Driftwood 2. Our favorite activities besides chillin and walking around camp and its local trails are:
South Jetty Beaches and Crabbing Dock less than ten minutes towards Florence.
Crabbing in front of Mo's Downtown Florence.
Dune Buggy tours from Sanland Adventures
Cleawox Lake Sand Dune Day Use Area (fishing too)
Wonahnik Lake
Heceta Beach north side of Florence.
There are is a lot to go do in this part of the Oregon Coast!

Sites are a little run down but the location more than makes up for this.

My camp sight was so perfect for my little trailer and shaded the whole day, and I'm so thankful cause I had taken my cat along.

Enjoyed our visit with a site close to the river for Kayak entrance for a wonderful trip on the Siltcoos river to the lake and down to the beach. Wonderful time.
