Of course the wind blew. It’s the Columbia River Gorge! Enjoyed the camp. The host helped us by calling the next camp up River to check sites availability as our ATT phone had no connectivity to check online.

Nice little campground close to the water and boat launch. There is a swimming area. No shade as the trees are small. The bathroom in the campground is primitive but there are flush toilets and showers near the boat launch

Disappointed in n how the camp grounds has been taken care of. Weeds not mowed. We pulled the weeds around our site. We have camp there for over 50 years, our favorite place to camp and boat. Hurts us to see it how it is going down hill.

Site wasn’t clean, there was litter left over from previous campers. Actually there was more trash at this park than most parks we’ve been to. Very hot and very, very windy with ZERO shade. I understand there was trees at one point but they are no longer there. If you are looking for any privacy at all, there isn’t any. Also, watch for snakes. There are only vault toilets on the RV side and no showers. There’s flushing toilets on the tent side which are clean. Showers are with the toilets. They were not clean.
The swimming area was great for kids. There’s life vests if you forget yours. There is also a small park. The tent side seemed very nice and well maintained. A lot of shade and grass, we were in a pop-up so we ended up spending more time over there since the temperature was so high that day.
The bugs are something else at night being that close to the river, don’t forget your bug spray and citronella.

Lepage Park is accessible via Interstate 84, which is located directly adjacent to the campground. The nearest exit is exit 114, approximately 30 miles from The Dalles, Oregon.

General

- Camping limited to 14 days within a 30-consecutive day period.
- Trailers are required to have a tow vehicle available throughout duration of reservation. If renting a trailer through a separate company, please call John Day Ranger Office (541) 739-1135 for approval.
- RV sites are limited to one RV unit and one tent OR two tents. Tent sites are limited to two tents per site. Maximum occupancy of eight people per site.
- Rattlesnakes may be present; use caution.
- Pets are allowed and must be kept on a maximum 6ft leash at all times.
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
- Off-road vehicles not permitted
- STOP THE SPREAD OF INVASIVE SPECIES. Remove plants, seeds, animals, and mud from boots, gear, pets, and vehicles. Clean your gear before entering and leaving the recreation site. Stay on designated roads and trails, and follow local guidelines for firewood. CLEAN, DRAIN, DRY boats and any other recreational equipment that contacts water.
