What Guests Are Saying
Cedar Grove Campground offers a picturesque and serene setting with spacious, clean sites and easy access to the Molalla River, ideal for those seeking a tranquil camping experience. While the campground features amenities like BBQs, fire pits, and hiking trails, it may not suit those with mobility challenges or those looking for a more private, dispersed camping environment. Overall, guests appreciate the beauty and quietness of the area, though some have noted noise from nearby parties and logging trucks.

It was our first time at this campground and we will be back! Pristine spots in a row and close to parking lot and outhouse, made set up very easy. We were in spot 10 which is at one end of the path and the opposite end goes down to the creek for great access to a long rocky beach. Beautiful, remote and other guests were quiet and respectful.

Do not attempt to camp in your van unless you want to stay in the parking lot. The hike-in camping is more like a group thing with the sites on top of each other. If you are at all handicapped, it will be very difficult to get down to the river. there isn't much of a swimming hole here either. It was relatively deserted mid-week in July, however the few people that were on the beach were loudly cussing and carrying on, making it seem crowded. Very uncomfortable, unfortunately.

Nice small quiet campground with river access. Bring lots of bug spray and citronella candles.

Gorgeous, pristine campground next to swimmable river. Roomy sites each with BBQ & fire pit. Dumpster, potable water (hand pump) and cement-block toilet. Very clean; very easy to find. Across the street from hiking/Mtn biking access (25 miles of trails). I loved that campsites are now reservable rather than first-come. This would be a 5-star review EXCEPT that the trail maps are not up-to-date (some trailheads missing, some trails unsigned especially in southern section).

We had an absolutely lovely time at Cedar Grove. There was a group of people in the neighboring sites who were partying pretty hard which disturbed our sleep a little. But otherwise it was a 10/10 experience.
The river is gorgeous. If you walk just about 500 ft down the road you can find a deeper part of the river, even in the heat of summer. And about a .5 mile down the road there are hiking trails.
It really is the perfect camping spot.

Lovely small campground. Nothing but the murmuring of the Molalla River -- and a very vocal great horned owl. But then the logs trucks began rolling at 5 a.m.....

The campground is picturesque, small and tucked away. I was in #5 which has more space than the others. Not much privacy though. Tall cedar trees with ferns which are about up to the knee. So my space looked easily onto the other spots all around me. We could all see each other. You might also want to go in a group if camping early or late season too. I went end of August. Even though it was booked full and I got the last spot over 1/2 of the camp spots were no shows. I had intended to stay Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. But since the few people who did show left on Sunday and I was by myself, with no camp host, decided it was best to leave a day early.

Site 7 was pretty good!
It’s closer to the road than some other sites but traffic wasn’t too busy or loud, almost no cars between 10pm-5am.
The river spot is a short and easy hike, though some stairs and uneven ground so if you’re expecting accessibility, it’s not here for you.
The site was clean and the parking lot was easy to navigate. The vault toilets were a bit neglected, definitely bring your own toilet paper and hand sanitizer and use caution, the door is not easy to lock and there is no light inside, a lantern or headlight is strongly advised even during daylight hours, it is dark in there with the door closed.
Trash receptacle near the parking lot was very nice and helped ensure easy cleanup during checkout (11am!)
Would come back, but might not be the best campground for unseasoned campers, those with mobility issues, or those seeking a really dispersed camping experience. You will definitely see your neighbors from your site, but not necessarily make eye contact or feel crowded here.

Really nice campground with a beautiful creek. Dumpsters provided for trash. You do have to walk a bit from your car, from about 10ft to 50 yards depending on which campsite.

When we got to site, that we reserved, someone else was in our spot. After showing my reservations and speaking with them they ended up switching to a different spot. It would be great to have a reservation sign on the site when it’s reserved.
