Many visitors appreciate the campground's accessibility to nature, including hiking and wildlife sightings, and the presence of a helpful campground host. Love Allen Springs campground. Some sites are very large. Many are right on the edge of the beautiful Metolius River. Love the walking trails right along the river. The fish hatchery is 1 mile away. The quaint town of Camp Sherman has a general store with tables outside to have your lunch, a friend small church, a wonderful bike path, and more walking trails up and down the river. Our favorite area in Oregon - quiet and peaceful!

Quiet, beautiful little campground. Suitable for tent campers, vans or small trailers/RVs. There is NO water here, so come prepared. It was hot when we visited and the two vault toilets were getting a little stinky. Also, some of the sites could benefit from new picnic tables. Ours was so warped, my dinner plate started to slide off the first night! No on-site camp host this year, but the host from a nearby campground made frequent visits to check in on things, clean the toilets, etc., so no complaints. Beautiful spot on the Metolius River. We love it here!

Walk in site (#6) that takes you right by the river. Excellent campground... friendly and helpful host - Mark or Dave I think.

We were in space number 5, which is a walk in. It is only 100 meters from parking. There is a trail on both sides so there isnt full privacy. The lot is spacious. We had a tent of 5 by 5 and there were at least 2 different places we could have pitched it. The ground is pretty level. No cell phone coverage for our ATT and Tmobile. Toilets were clean. Garbage was managed well.

We LOVE camping on the Metolius and we love Allen Springs. However, the bathrooms were really bad on this trip and the dumpster was overfilling most of the time we were there. It seems like more attention is needed by a camp host and general services.

Lovely spot. Hot, hot and no drinking water on hand. A little odd to have the trail and hikers walking through your campsite, but everyone was very nice.
