Gorge Campground is highly praised for its beautiful setting along the Metolius River, spacious campsites, and well-maintained facilities, creating a peaceful atmosphere for visitors. The area offers excellent access to hiking, fishing, and nature activities, making it a favorite for families and repeat campers. However, some concerns were noted regarding cleanliness of restrooms, absence of water at the campground, and occasional issues with campsite reservations and theft.

Nice campground clean facilities super nice hosts. Unfortunately ODF&W don't think stocking the river for the average angler is a worth while use of sky rocketing licence fee so fishing is non existent and such a pretty stream.

The campground hosts were wonderful. The toilet facilities were spotless. My only issue with the whole area is that there are no first come first served sites available as there has been in the past. Our neighboring site had a travel trailer but no one was there for 4 nights. My suspicion is that people now rent the sites move in and then setup for various family members to come and go as they please.

We were lucky to camp at the far end of the campground down by the river. What a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the area. The hiking trail was immediately outside of our camp and it was amazing. I will go back there any chance I get!!!

Camp Sherman is a hidden gem along the Metolius River. Gorge Campground is one of the furthest from the Camp Sherman Store (3 mi). Facilities were cleaned daily and Camp Host was friendly. Enjoy the sounds of the river at night and fly fishing during the day. Bring Waders!!
