What Guests Are Saying
Camp Sherman Campground is a beloved annual destination known for its beautiful setting, proximity to the river, and great star gazing opportunities. Many visitors appreciate the clean facilities and the welcoming atmosphere, with easy access to local hiking trails and nearby towns. However, some guests have raised concerns about noise from generators, overcrowding, and management issues, though these do not seem to detract significantly from the overall positive experience.

My site was fairly close to the river so I could hear it. It is quite dark in the Camp Sherman area so star gazing is good. I was a 5 min. walk from the store so I could get my coffee and breakfast scone in the morning.

One of our favorite places to be. Cannot beat this spot. This trip, the main downside was that the camp host had their generator running 9am-10pm and I guess was just inside watching tv all day, so the noise blocked out all sounds of the river and was just overall annoying. Our last day there, there were 4 RVs total, also all running generators. We were wishing they’d somehow limit this (or maybe have specific campgrounds to rvs vs tent) to allow others to better enjoy the peace and beauty.

The campsite was close to the river so we could hear it at night.Out houses clean and well stocked. Close access to walk along the river trail. Enjoy walking don to the Head of the Metolius (wish some of the brush was cleared close to the head so it would be more visible as it was in the past).

I purchased a reserved site. It was not labeled correctly and had the wrong name. Further we had people who were not camping with us park behind our car and walk through our site un invited.

Enjoyed the stay at camp sherman, Oregon. Had a wonderful dinner at Hola restaurant just across the river from the store. Got a nice hike along the river. Some noisy dogs during the day but quiet as night moved in. Thank you for sharing this beautiful space.

Our campground host was rules driven especially with rules that weren’t documented. For example she labeled the water faucet near her campsite with a homemade notice on the faucet “not for public use”. I asked her if I could use it; she said no forcing me to carry my 7 gal container from the far end of the campground. Who is that unkind? I’m a 71 year old man.
