What Guests Are Saying

Camp Sherman Campground is a beloved annual destination known for its beautiful setting, proximity to the river, and great star gazing opportunities. Many visitors appreciate the clean facilities and the welcoming atmosphere, with easy access to local hiking trails and nearby towns. However, some guests have raised concerns about noise from generators, overcrowding, and management issues, though these do not seem to detract significantly from the overall positive experience.

Site 5 is in the meadow with easy access to the river and day use shelter. It is very public as people walking the trail and visiting the day use area are on the edges of the site. They were friendly and respectful.

We have been visiting the Camp Sherman area for years. This time we were very disappointed with the over crowding in the sites on both sides of us. Each site had 4 cars. The site on our right had 3 tents. On our left there was a trailer and 3 tents. Many more then the 6 people allotted per site. One would think people could go without their music or wear buds. No camp host and no patrolling of campground. The site tags were not updated. Camp Sherman has always been known as a very tranquil place. If this practice remains as normal, it won’t be long before the Camp Sherman campsites are destroyed with overuse.
Desperately in need of better management.

I realize that it was just after Memorial Weekend but the trash very much needed to be picked up. And our site wasn’t tagged as being reserved. Another camper had begun setting up his tent. He was nice and moved on. There was not camp host in site. In fact we never was a host while we were there. Our site never got tagged and the garbage never got picked up. Very unusual from our past experiences. We will return again. This won’t derail us from Camp Sherman.

We have stayed be before, the campground and camp Sherman area is beautiful. Due to unhealthy air quality we needed to cancel. Yes, I knew the fees related to canceling but also disappointed in the way that campsites reservation systems have turned. The fees for changing or cancelling are ridiculous.

We found the campground neat and orderly. Our site had been raked and the fire pit had been cleaned. What a welcoming feeling.
We will return to this campground again soon. We can't take high temperatures, so we'll go again in fall and spring.
