About Pioneer Ford Campground

Pioneer Ford is one of the most popular of the campgrounds in the area since many of the sites are well suited to RVs and most of the sites are mostly private, shaded amongst a mixture of pine and cedar trees. As you travel north away from the first in a series of Metolius-area campgrounds and Camp Sherman, the facilities become more and more isolated which is why Pioneer Ford can be so quiet. Located on the Metolius River, this campground provides access to fishing and hiking trails.

Vault toilets are clean and in good order. Every site in the campground offers plenty of space and privacy. Each time I have been there it has been quiet with friendly campers in the campground.
There is no cellphone service (which I prefer, this is where I can get away from the noise of the world). SOS connection is available. It appeared that the host may have had Starlink connection.

Beautiful setting. Sites clean. Outhouses need desperately to be pumped. Nasty.

Pioneer Ford is a beautiful quiet spot. Many times on the Metolius but never at that campground. The sites are big and very nice. Great hiking along the river. Very well maintained trails.
