What Guests Are Saying
Pioneer Ford Campground is a beautiful, peaceful site with great river access, clean facilities, and respectful guests. Campers appreciate the large, private sites, gorgeous hiking trails, and the serene atmosphere, especially mid-week. While there are occasional issues with water availability and privacy between sites, the friendly camp host and natural surroundings make it a favorite destination for relaxation and fishing.

It was wonderful to be able to reserve a river side site!
However, we were not informed ahead of time that there was NO potable water at this or any campground along the Metolius! We had a 10 night reservation. It’s inexcusable! We should have been informed so as to be better prepared.
We sure hope there is water available the next time as we camp yearly and stay for 8-10 nights. Regardless, we so love Pioneer Ford campground!

Nicest campground host we've encountered. Campsite was well maintained. Two thumbs up!

Perhaps my favorite campground on the Metolius. Well suited to RV's and tents alike, big sites, and very quiet. Much shadier than the upper river campgrounds but also a bit cooler in the hot days of July and August.

We love this Campground and our favorite site. It is right on the river. Almost always quiet. It is frequently possible to meet interesting new people who also enjoy the location. Because the trail along the river goes right by the edge of the campsite, it is so easy to make the trip around to the Wizard Falls Fish Hatchery and across and down to the bridge at Bridge 99 and then back "home."

This was a very quiet, pleasant campground alongside the Deschutes River. Serene and pleasant, a great getaway—folks with small kids should be aware that the site borders the river which has an extremely swift current even in midsummer.
