Great horse camp with easy trails! There was no camp host this year and the bathrooms ran out of TP but aside from that it was great.

Very pretty horse camp set near to several creeks. This time we parked in site #7. It was a little difficult to determine which site it actually was, as the signs don't obviously correspond to the spots. We have a 32' LQ and it was a bit tricky backing it in because of how 3 trees near the entrance of the spot are spaced. But the campsite itself is quite generous and once parked it worked very well. The corrals are set up as 2 and 2 rather than all 4 side by side. Two of the corrals have more shade than the other two. The spot is pretty close to Site #8 so these two sites would be perfect for friends camping together. The good news is there is paved road quite a ways in, but the bad news is the last 2-3 miles of gravel is filled with potholes and washboard. Don't expect to travel quickly over this section. We enjoy several of the trails, the shorter Brush Creek Loop, the longer Metolius River Loop, and Bear Valley (if it has been cleared). Enjoy your stay!

There was no toilet paper in the bathroom in the 4 days we were camping there.

Nice camp with great trails! Have to hand pump water- but at least there is this option. We try to bring our own in, as it’s easier this way.
Bear siting on road in- not far from camp. Road in was pretty washboard. Cell service (Verizon) was okay..

Great camp hosts! New pipe corrals are so much better than pole corrals. Trails were well maintained. Only criticism is the lack of road maintenance from Jack Lake Road in to Sheep Springs. In almost 20 years of camping there, the road has NEVER been this bad!

We love this horse camp. The bees were a little worse than last year. There were bee traps put up, but they were a nuisance when you are cooking. I highly recommend this camp!

From Sisters, Oregon, take Highway 20 west for about 12 miles. Turn north onto Jack Lake Road/FS Road 12 and continue for nearly 6 miles. Turn left onto FS Road 1260, then right onto FS Road 200. Sheep Springs will be on the right hand side.
Sheep Springs Horse Camp is accessible via Highway 20, which is approximately 12 miles to the southeast.

General
- Sheep Springs Horse Camp is intended for equestrian camping
- Horses must be kept in stalls provided, and may not be teathered or picketed outside of stalls
- Horse Campers must use Certified Weed-Seed-Free Hay
- No hookups are available
- Please Note: One RV with tow vehicle per single site or one vehicle per tent site. Most sites can accommodate 1 extra vehicle that is not included with the reservation fee. Extra vehicle will be charged a per night fee and collected at the campground.
- Fire Restrictions: Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed.
- During your time in Central Oregon, you can find wildfire, prescribed fire and smoke information at centraloregonfire.org
- Reserved Sites will be held until the day following your arrival date. Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of that following day to hold a reservation or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests. Once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation.
- Refunds: Refund requests made through www.recreation.gov will be charged a $10 processing fee. This fee is retained by the reservation service contractor along with the non-refundable reservation fee. All requests for the return of the non-refundable reservation fee and the cancellation fee will be declined by the campground concessionaire as they did not receive these fees (these are the fees retained by the reservation contractor, a different entity).
- Don't Move Firewood: Please protect Pacific Northwest forests by preventing the spread of invasive species. Firewood can carry insects and diseases that can threaten the health of our western forests. You can make a difference by obtaining and burning your firewood near your camping destination. - Camping or otherwise occupying a single location (including leaving camping equipment and/or related supplies) for a period longer than 14 consecutive calendar days is prohibited. ‘Location’ means the occupied area, the occupied campsite, and the National Forest System lands in the immediate vicinity thereof. Camping or occupying any location on all National Forest lands for more than 28 calendar days total during a calendar year is prohibited.
- NO generator use is allowed in campgrounds. Silent power banks or battery powered devices are allowed.
