We love camping at Smiling River. We were there in 2019, ousted by fire threats in 2020 and kept our fingers crossed for 2021. It is a quiet place to just sit and listen to the river.
We were in campsite #9 and had to make some adjustments with blocks to get level. Some light maintenance would be helpful.
We use our few days here to really relax before heading to Sisters for a family camping reunion which kicks us back into high gear but is fun.
We wish the camps were kept open longer since fall is such a beautiful time to experience the outdoors.

My only complaint is we were notified there would be no water at camp two days after we arrived. It would have been helpful to have signs on pumps indicating the problem. We witnessed multiple times others made trips to the different pumps. And three of our friends who camped there had issues with mice. Otherwise, we love camping in this park. The new host was friendly and helpful telling us where we could get water.
