Great campground for those who don’t need electricity or running water at their site. We love how quiet and peaceful it is. Just the sound of the river and the wind in the pines.

Loved the campground! Beautiful area and plan to go back again.
I wish there was a RV dump station in the area of the four or five campgrounds. Maybe at the fish hatchery or store would be great improvement.

Great camp trip! Went well until the four young kids next to us decided to rip out some foilage and small bushes/trees to burn. Filled up our entire campsite with smoke, but overall, two thumbs up!

We love the Metolius and this was our first time at Smiling River. We loved it and the host was very nice. I wish there was more time spent on the cleaning of the bathrooms. The toilet needed to be ‘hosed down’ on the inside of the toilet’ it was gross,

Great camping experience. The site is always clean and bathrooms are in good shape. The river is always nearby awaiting.

Everything about the area is wonderful.
Our only complaint is that the pit toilet maintenance was the worst it has been in memory. I've been fishing there since I was 16 years old and I'm 76 years old now. i visit usually 3-4 times a year. I heard some ladies were going to Alingham campground for the bathroom because Smiling River was so poor.

Lovely campground. Some sites are a bit wide open, while others have a bit more privacy. A great way to visit Camp Sherman and enjoy the Metolius.
