Overall camping experience was good but can’t rate it higher for two reasons. The smell from the pit toilet was often extremely strong and wafting through our site with prevailing wind direction each day. The camp host was aware of two sites next to ours that were to host a bachelor party group for two nights. Camp host seemed happy to have the event and, to my knowledge, made no effort to emphasize the quiet hour rules as the group arrived. As you might expect we got loud hoops and general yells covering this section of the campground until 1:30 am the first night. Fortunately our reservation was up before the next night-wee left.

We enjoy the peace and quiet that this campground usually provides. We walk the trails and sit by the river .

My happy place! The River is so peaceful!
Lots of places to hike and bike!
The summer has become too busy but we’ll plan our next trip to the Metolius in the fall when it’s quieter.
