About South Shore

South Shore Campground is located along Suttle Lake, shaded by Douglas fir and Ponderosa pine. One section of the camp sits on the shoreline, while the other is nestled on a hillside. Most sites have lake views. The 3,400-foot elevation and the lake breezes make South Shore Campground a comfortable summertime destination.

What Guests Are Saying

South Shore Campground at Suttle Lake is cherished by many visitors for its beautiful scenery, spacious campsites, and family-friendly atmosphere. Campers enjoy the lake for swimming, hiking, and fishing, with many returning year after year. However, concerns about road conditions, restroom cleanliness, and pest issues like yellow jackets have been noted, suggesting room for improvement in maintenance and facilities.

Fantastic lake. Camp sites are well laid out with easy access to the lake. The only negative is the bathrooms were not well maintained. I expect an outhouse to smell bad but these were over the top bad. Could smell them from across the camp ground.

The camp site itself was nice. However, it is NOT a lakefront site like advertised.

Not idea having people walk through your campsite all day long.

The site was close to the water, plenty of space between camp sites, and the view was spectacular!

We had moderately smoky conditions due to the Oregon wildfires in process, but still better air quality than in Bend. The campground had LOTS of unoccupied spaces due to people not showing up because of the smoke. Overall it's a very nice campground especially the sites that have lake views.
