Buckaloons

There is a dead limb on the tree right next to the road that goes straight across where you park your vehicle. I showed the camp host this dead limb and my concerns about it can fall anytime on someone or on someone’s vehicle. A month later this dead limb is still up on the tree. I will not stay on this site until that dead limb is cut down.

Buckaloons is the perfect campground for a relaxing time. I came with extended family to celebrate a couple of birthdays, we ended up getting an additional site. Everything worked out great. I've been going to Buckaloons for years and the extended family wants to come back next year for an extended stay. If I was forced to try to find something negative it would be the lack of some type of playground, the volleyball, horseshoes and basketball are great though, so the playground isn't that big of a deal. I'm trying to get one more trip in this year.

I stayed at Buckaloons for three nights in late September as a jumping off point for kayaking on the Allegheny. I have a Honda Odyssey that I have converted into a small camper and I have camped in my places across the U.S. I found the Allegheny National Recreation Area to be very special and the Buckaloons as a perfect place to camp. The entire campground was well maintained and the restrooms kept very clean. The hot shower was very welcome after a day on the river. Because of the organization of the campground and it being totally booked, I was limited to a site very near the entrance. While convenient, it was not as private as many of the sites further in. Given that, neighbors were very respectful. On another note, I appreciate the historical nature of the area and the information provided on notice boards. I was especially pleased to see the Seneca flag along side the state flag! Sadly, I didn't see youngsters exploring the area rather than be glued to their "smart phones" and remote control cars. Neverthe less, I highly recommend this campground and hope to return someday.

Very nice park. The sites were spaced well apart, with lots and lots of shade. If you use Starlink, as I do, you can't get a clear opening to the sky, so Starlink won't work here. The campground is only a couple of hundred yards from the Allegheny River. The bathhouse is very clean, however, no heat. Be prepared. The water was very hot, and good pressure. No camp store, but a small town is a mile and half away with Dollar General, Family Dollar, and a Grocery store. So all in all, nice camping.

Everything was awesome except the toilet paper 🧻. Sub-par. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Nice clean campsite

Camp spots are not well maintained. Too many low spots that flood. Need gravel to raise area parking and RV parking. Picnic tables are rotted out and need to trim trees over camping spots.

The sites are big and there are trees between them. Semi-private. Bath house was great and there was a flush toilet right by our site. We were at 15. We had to move from site 29 because it was too muddy.

Some height trimming needs done and the campgrounds have the worlds worst speed bumps other then that I would have given a five star rating

No firewood on site.
