GeneralCAUTION: PRESCRIBED FIRE NOTICE The Allegheny National Forest is planning prescribed fire operations near the south end of Tracy Ridge Recreation Area between April 1 and May 15, as weather conditions allow. A temporary closure will be enforced during operations, restricting public access to the project area, including the Tracy Ridge Trail System, a section of the North Country National Scenic Trail, and the Handsome Lake and Hopewell boat-to campgrounds. Operations are expected to last 1 to 2 days, followed by a few days of mop-up. For more information, visit www.fs.usda.gov/r09/allegheny/fire/management/tracy-ridge-prescribed-fire-burning-questions. What Guests Are Saying
Tracy Ridge is a great destination for friends or groups seeking a quiet, private outdoor experience, with well-maintained trails and mostly private campsites. Many visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, especially at night, and have returned for years. However, amenities are limited, with no potable water or showers on-site, requiring a short drive for modern facilities.

very quiet...lots of trails. no potable water (a well, but I wouldn't drink it). Pit toilets, no showers...you need to drive to Willow Bay ....nice showers there. It's about a 15min drive. We would go back.

not many amenities, no showers or modern bathrooms with running water, only outhouses, quiet during the week, a little bit noisier during the weekends, overall, a nice outdoor experience if you don't need the modern amenities of, electric, running water or showers.

Mostly private sites with very clean latrines and well-maintained trails nearby. Everyone was surprisingly quiet after 10pm. I was impressed with the quiet especially: it was like we were alone after dark.

The campsite was in poor shape - 2 boards missing from the picnic table and holes in the side of the fire ring. Was told it had a shower but there was none. Found out after I left that campus at Tracy Ridge can use the showers at Willow Bay. In general Tracy Ridge looks like USACE is giving the whole campground back to mother nature.
