A temporary closure will be enforced during operations, restricting public access to the project area, including the Tracy Ridge Trail System, a section of the North Country National Scenic Trail, and the Handsome Lake and Hopewell boat-to campgrounds. Our site (68) was clean and easy to access. Unfortunately, the level of the reservoir had been lowered to the point that there was no water at our site. But this provided a unique view of the land before the dam existed. A big negative was that the sewer dump station was full and there was no one to notify of the situation, a camp host was not available, and the number listed at the check in booth rang in to the booth where we left a message.

One of my favorite campgrounds in the fall. Not busy and great place to see Fall colors. Restrooms well maintained and clean. Most RV sites are level, some are paved.

The wooded areas around our campsites made the camping feel very nice and separated us from other camp sites. Our group had a wonderful time and enjoyed the campground. Even with the water very low this year we enjoyed walking the dry bottom of the reservoir and looking at all the neat stumps, rocks, etc.

From Bradford, travel west on PA-346 for 16 miles. Willow Bay is located just south of the Pennsylvania-New York border. Follow signs to the Allegheny Reservoir and the campground.
From the south, take PA-321 North to PA-346 and turn left. Continue to the campground on the left.
