The campground and individual sites are well-maintained, and the camp host stops by to greet newcomers and offer information. I have one complaint, shared by the other 8 tent campers in my party (four sites reserved): The bath house is CLOSED between the hours of 7:00 - 8:15 AM in the morning for maintenance. This is a very busy and active time of day for tent campers, so the timing of the closure is a major inconvenience for tent campers.

It is a very nice campground. We decided to pitch tents and go up for the weekend and we had a great time. All of the neighbors were very helpful with helping get set up the fire and tents. The river is really nice to fish in and up above you can swim at the lake beach and fish. The town of confluence is right there so if you forget any items your 5 minutes away from finding what you need. We had a great time with family and friends

There is a lot to do - the bike trail is just outside the of the campground and town is a short walk/bike ride/drive away. There are some good places to get something to eat and a grocery store and dollar store in case you forgot something. There are lots of attractions nearby including Ohiopyle and Fallingwater. The campground is a quiet, family-friendly place to spend a weekend or a week or two. If you like to fish, boat, or swim (the beach is very nice), Youghiogheny Lake is on the other side of the dam, a short drive away. The volunteers are very attentive to the campers needs and the shower house and two bathrooms are cleaned twice on weekends and once daily during the week. And the campers are friendly, too.

When we arrived, we noticed how clean the camp was. We saw the camp host personally cleaning and raking each site between reservations. We can not remember ever having such a clean camp site. The bathrooms had lots of showers. I wasn’t sure, at first, about the push button timed water flow, but I ended up really liking it. Perfect mix of hot/cold, no adjustment necessary, and lots of water pressure too. The camp is right next to the GAP rail trail, so easy to ride north one day, and south the next. It’s billed as the most beautiful section of the 150 miles, and we really enjoyed it. Very pretty. Complete shade too. Looking forward to another visit next summer.

I made the reservations back in May. 24-hours before arrival time I received an email stating that my reservations had been successfully cancelled. I freaked out and spent the next three hours trying to contact somebody to find out why they have been canceled. The nice attendant at reservation.gov had no explanation for what happened. I was able to make substitute reservations at 2 other sites because our group was small. If we had been larger it could have been a disaster and ruined the trip. When we arrived at Outflow Campground the camp hosts had no idea why they have been canceled either. This is the problem with the headless bureaucracy because nobody seemed to know why the reservations were cancelled. There was never an answer at the listed phone numbers for the campsite despite 20 or more tries. If I had not checked my email we would have arrived and been left homeless. Even though the campground was beautiful and we had a lot of fun, I'm not so sure that I trust them to maintain reservations in the future. Not sure if it was peculiar to this particular park or the whole system in general, but definitely watch your emails right before you are supposed to arrive because you never know.
