The Outflow Camping Area is located on Youghiogheny River Lake in the heart of the Laurel Highlands. The lake spans the Mason-Dixon Line between Pennsylvania and Maryland. Clean waters, forested mountains and steep-sided valleys provide an unsurpassed setting for recreational opportunities.

We really enjoy this are for the activities nearby. It’s a beautiful area with beautiful scenery. The only thing I would recommend is that there would be a section for pets and camping spots. It can get pretty annoying hearing dogs barking every time someone walks by. I love dogs but I prefer a dog free area for a quiet camping spot! Thank you.

In Site 4 for 1 week, 50 amp, no water or sewer (which we knew). Host offered potable water fill at check in. Host knew the park and suggested an easier path to the site which was very helpful, due to the a sharp turn and obstacles. Site was well maintained, fire pit was clean. Restroom was clean, did not use the shower house (different area of the park). Dump station was easy and the whole park was clean. We would definitely stay again. 40 ft Motorhome towing.

  • This is the Outflow Campground at Youghiogheny Lake, not the Tionesta Rec Area Campground at the Outflow at Tionesta Lake
  • Alcohol is prohibited
  • The release warning siren from hydropower plant will be heard in the campground
  • All sites are 100% reservable
  • Maximum of two tents or one tent and one trailer allowed per site
  • Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
