We stayed at River Mountain for a family celebration for my father’s 90th birthday. We were 20 people ages 8-90 traveling from 4 states. The entire team helped us plan an incredible art and nature filled weekend. The food and the accommodations could not have been better. This was my second trip here and I’m just so impressed with quality of the experience and their willingness to work accommodate all your needs.

We spent one night in a Yurt at River Mountain and absolutely loved it. Everything, and I mean everything, about this place is thought out consciously and with the guest in mind. The Yurt has a pellet stove, space heater, and enough blankets to keep the town warm. The kitchen has everything labeled for allergens and includes gluten-free and vegan options. They also don't nickle and dime you for every little thing -- firewood? Take as much as you need.
The hammock area is unique and interesting -- it's a section of trees that have straps already hanging so all you need to do is bring a hammock/tent right near the yoga pods. I can see that area being a lot of fun when you're looking to meet and interact with like-minded outdoor enthusiasts. We were shocked to discover such a great hidden gem. This is a place you get to enjoy and go back to before it gets shown on Instagram -- after that I imagine it'll be very difficult to get a booking. There's so much more to do here like yoga, hikes, and the natural hot tub but we ran out of time just playing board games. We will absolutely be returning throughout the year!

Such an amazing place. It’s a must have retreat if you are looking for a resort style recreation place, want to relax and enjoy a night or two. You will find everything you need plus more. It’s worth every penny. This was my first time and would visit again. They have showers, memory foam mattresses, heated blankets, fireplace, heaters inside.

Spent the past couple of days and had a great experience. The staff were super friendly, the facilities were very clean, and the food was really good.
The weather was so cold that we couldn’t enjoy as much as we wanted, but I’d definitely love to come back when the weather is warmer. Also the blankets were insanely soft and warm. Seriously curious where they got them.

I booked a yurt for my husband and my 10 year wedding anniversary as a surprise to him and it was perfect. A lovely, quiet campground in the middle of nowhere. Now, we got married in December, and it just happened to have a lot of snow and a strangely high amount of wind! In fact, there was a wind advisory for the area. The folks there offered us a cabin but we declined. Sleeping in a yurt in perfect weather is boring. But snuggling up under the heated blanket with both a pellet furnace and space heater is honestly my kind of divine. One of my favorite things was that when we first arrived, they have like a little wooden box with supplies like fire starters and flashlights, but there was also a little journal. Visitors can write whatever they want in the journal during their stay, so I found it enchanting to read all the other stories, from newlyweds to kids glamping with their kids, to now having added our story. Of course there's comedy gold in there too, like how the one guest acknowledged another guest's questionable decisions (which I won't spoil, will have to read the journal if you want to know!). At any rate, we shared our time with our 7yo daughter and all of us had a fun, relaxing time. My partner plans on telling his boss about it as an option for a company retreat and my kid wants us to go back when it's summer. We'll definitely return to this gem!!
