Shenango Recreation Area is a very nice campground and boating area. The campsites are awesome, level and spacious. The restrooms however are outdated and could use a makeover. The shower rooms are honestly disappointing. They were dirty, old and the water temperature is not controllable. It did have hot water but to hot for most people especially children. The sign on the door stated they are cleaned periodically??? What does that mean, we spent 4 night there
Saturday-Wednesday and the showers were never cleaned. I understand the weekend but one would think they would be cleaned on Monday. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and will most likely return.

Very nice and clean campground. I don’t like the idea of wearing a PFD on my kayak, but rules are rules. Anything under 16 feet you MUST wear one…for anybody visiting. Other than that it’s a nice place to go. It would be nice to have more electric sites available closer to the water.

We are advid kayakers. We booked this site based on location. The site has no put in for kayaking. It's a cliff. Atmosphere was loud with music and children into the night. Bath house was old and clean maybe once a day. Jamestown campground was much nicer. New bathhouses. Level put in for kayaking. I recommend Jamestown. Couldn't wait to leave shenango!

Buhl park and Kidds Mill covered bridge and trails are a must. Would like to see updated bathrooms and showers in the Old Duck loop in the campground.
