For us, it is always an enjoyable camping experience at the Shenango Recreation Area campground. The sites are spacious and placed well apart from each other to allow for a bit more privacy, unlike the private campgrounds where campers seem to abut one another.
Shenango offers hiking, boating, fishing, playgrounds, and camping, of course but I would like to see programs and activities for children presented by the Corps personnel. In addition, upgrading the restroom facilities and adding more electric sites would enhance the campground appeal.
All in all, it is a great place to bring your family and friends for a great camping experience.

Like you left some beach area to park boats, did not care for the earlier checkout time, and waited a long time at to dump station. The earlier time pushes more people to that area causing back up.

We've stayed at this campground many times over the years. The local Army Core management recently changed and has begun making very positive improvements to the area. They seem genuinely interested in making the camping experience better for everyone. The prior regime seemed more focused on enforcing rules than anything else.
