I have a lot to say about this camping trip. I'm sure those that work for the Army Corps are personally wonderful people. However, leadership has fell to the wayside. I've been going to Raystown Lake for 47 years. Never have I been so discouraged as I was this trip. First, grass mowing terrible. Second, bathrooms dirty. Third, campsites lacking stone. Fourth, water hydrants for use that the rules prohibit usage. Five, park rangers writing warnings for people parking where they are supposed to park and pulling in versus backing in, writing warnings for those not having a mooring pass who have their boats parked along the shoreline at the campground. Sixth, stones washed out from rain storm into the roadway causing a hazard for kids on bicycles and people traveling up steep hills with campers. Seven, rodents wondering the campsites, foraging for food at night. Eight, trees that majorly need trimming. Get your act together because you are chasing off the old timers that have helped establish the very foundation the place was built upon and your jobs were created from.

We absolutely love camping at Raystown Lake! It's our whole family's favorite place to go. Our 3 boys always make friends and love swimming in the lake, playing at the playground, riding bikes (especially at the bike park!), fishing, etc. The Point campground is hard to get a site but the views of the lake are just amazing! We look forward to our time at Raystown every single year!

Our trips to Seven Points are always enjoyable for which we come back every year. Only thing that bothers us are other peoples pets, mainly dogs. It would be nice if there were certain site for campers with dogs.

Booking is always frustrating. We try to book along the water and even though we are there at 10:00 trying to book never can land a site. Other friends have the same experience. It seems unless you book using a bot they are impossible to get. You need to devise a system that gives everyone a fair shot at a water site.

Recreation.gov website, phone and on-site support are awful. On-site gave me a camp site with 14 stairs and no comfortable spot for a tent after I told her my husband was having trouble walking and we had a tent. Phone support could not transfer the camp site to a more suitable one AND could not refund me for the first unsuitable site.
PLUS, we had the rudest campers I have ever encountered in my life. They were several families next to us. They were load until 11:45pm and were up at 6:15am being louder than the nigh before. They didn't know how to break down their tents and were yelling at each other at 6 in the morning. There were little kids in the site across from us, so I'm sure they were not happy either. Come on people...if you are going to camp, be respectful to those around you. And where was the Ranger?! No where to be seen.
VERY disappointing stay.

Fantastic view of the lake. Great "neighbors" to share fishing stories. Had an awesome time!
