What Guests Are Saying
Susquehannock is a beautiful campground with well-maintained sites and stunning views of the lake and mountains, making it a favorite for families and outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors appreciate the proximity to biking trails, water activities, and the friendly rangers. However, there are concerns about the cleanliness of the bathrooms, which detracts from the overall experience for some campers.

Such a beautiful campground and location. Waking up every morning next to the lake is wonderful. This is the perfect location for mountain bikers, water lovers and people looking for a remote-feeling camping experience. Not the place for partiers and loud music.

This is the third year we’ve stayed at this campground and we love the lake and well maintained campsites. This year we were on a lake front site which was amazing. However the bathrooms were horrific. We stayed the first weekend they were open so I don’t know if no one got around to cleaning them yet (although shouldn’t they be cleaned out from the end of the year?) or if they’re always like this but they were terrible. I have never smelled a bathroom as awful and we were down wind of them the whole weekend. I know they’re not regular indoor plumbing bathrooms but the other two years we came they didn’t smell at all.

Look. This is a beautiful area, and if you can get one of the water sites it has the potential for a great experience. My issue with this campground is the sites are literally right on top of one another. We were there for Labor Day weekend and we had a group of 40 people centralized in the campsite next to us, drinking and making noise till 1am. The quiet hours after 10pm were clearly not being enforced, and we ended up having to leave a day early. So I guess if you have quiet, considerate neighbors, this could be an amazing experience. But a lot of the campers out here didn't seem to be the considerate types. So you're rolling the dice, and I wish you the best of luck....

If you are looking for a mostly primitive, remote-feeling campground, then this is a good one. The campground is well maintained, and even when full, it feels like a quieter campground. Many of the sites enjoy a lot of foliage which gives them a private feel. To get to the campsites, you do have to drive back in a fair bit of distance from the entry gate, but in my opinion, that adds to the experience.
The bathrooms do not have running water. There is a potable water pump, but it's back at the entrance, so you will want to fill up your water jugs when you first enter the campground. The pump is just after the entrance office/gate.
Overall though, we had a good experience here.

The campsite is beautiful as always but the bathrooms are so scary. There was so many gnat type bugs in all bathrooms that you could actually hear them buzzing. When you lifted the lid they swarmed out like a horror movie! There was no hand sanitizer and the unit had been disassembled and there were dead gnat type bugs caked on it like icing.
I did leave that comment on the checkout tag and we came back for our last couple days on the 29th. There was not as many bugs (hardly any) and the dispenser had been reassembled but still no sanitizer.
We were at site 60 and the "ladies" side was the bigger problem

Excellent camping experience for tent campers looking to get away, yet still have some amenities: fire ring, picnic table, nicely cleared spot. I like this campground due to the proximity to the Allegripis trails.

We really enjoyed the campsite and mtb trails. I think we will try to reserve a site with a better lake view next time.

Great campground with sites right on the lake. Nice facilities and good cell service. Very close to miuntain bike trails head. Only downside was other campers not following quiet hours and being loud all night.
