Loleta is a peaceful, idyllic spot. My Upper Loop campsite was quiet and well-spaced from other sites. The camp host and hostess went above and beyond expectations to welcome me and make my stay pleasant, and they make the recreation area inviting with extras, like flower plantings and hanging baskets at the bathhouse. They keep the bathhouse clean and accessible 24 hours a day, and all facilities are well-supplied with necessities, such as paper towels, toilet paper, and hand soap. Loleta makes a great home base for exploring the area. Clear Creek and Cook Forest State Parks and Clear Creek State Forest are nearby, and hiking/birding opportunities are close by in Allegheny National Forest at Buzzard Swamp, Beaver Meadows, and Loleta itself. I would definitely consider camping at Loleta again.

As a tent camper I enjoy the upper loop. Quiet and private.

Stayed at campsite 4 in the upper loop. Site was down from the road so it was private, but was right next to the bathroom. There was no smell. Staff kept facility clean and stocked. Only issue was the fire pit does not have enough oxygen holes to allow for proper burning. Would stay at site again.
