My family has been going to Yogi Bear for years. We love the camp ground and all it offers for our children! Kids are excited to go every Labor Day weekend and we have a great group of friends that have tagged along over the years. The improvements are amazing and we love the Pool. Wish we could spend more time camping at Yogi Bear Kozy Rest!

Disappointed After Years of Enjoyment

This place can be a great option for a quick weekend getaway. However, if you’re considering it for a seasonal or long-term stay, I’d strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

Unfortunately, the management does not seem to prioritize the safety or well-being of guests, especially children. Concerns and complaints from seasonal guests have repeatedly been brushed aside, and it’s clear that long-term visitors are not valued the same as short-term ones.

Even more frustrating is the clear favoritism toward certain employees, who are allowed to break rules and ignore policies that paying guests are expected to follow. There’s a lack of accountability, and management shows little interest in resolving ongoing issues.

This place used to be a favorite for our family, but due to the continued problems and lack of support this season, we will not to returning.

Wow this is a beautiful park! Lots of gravel at sites, roads are all paved. We splurged for a red carpet site which was amazing. They keep it VERY clean. Tons of stuff for kids to do but warning: be sure to call ahead or search thru the website to find the operating hours of all the amenities before you book. We were surprised to find the pool closed before Labor Day on weekdays but staff made it right. Tons of cabins that look very nice. Shady and sunny spots.

Just finished a weekend at Jellystone as first-time campers. My kids had an absolute blast, but my husband and I were torn on how we felt about it and if we will return.
PROS
-Activity staff was fantastic--plentiful staff, great attitudes, professional.
-Lodging was fine! We stayed in a yurt (only 2 yurts on site) and it was very clean, spacious and adequate.
-Location (north of Pittsburgh) is great for us.
-The swimming pool and water park were THE MAIN reason we went and they did not disappoint. Our kids swam/splashed for 5 hours straight.
-So. Many. Activities. So. So. Many.
CONS
-This place is over-the-top pricey. Practically everything is an extra add-on, and while it feels like a resort, it's still just a campground at the end of the day. I planned this trip for 6 months with other families from our church and every single one backed out because of the price--our family ended up going solo.
-The pool is only open from 11am-7pm. We were unable to arrive prior to 7pm on Friday night, and checkout was 11am Sunday morning. We enjoyed the pool so much on Saturday, so I inquired about how we could swim on Sunday (our checkout day) and was told the only way to make it happen was to pay a $100 late check-out fee just to park our car at our lodge (we still had to be completely out of our lodge by 11am). This seemed pretty absurd given that our weekend had already cost close to $600 and we were going to be out of our lodge by 11am on Sunday anyways--what loss is it to them to allow their guests to leave a car and use the pool (and make purchases by the pool) for a few hours prior to leaving? This really turned me off. In the end we only had one pool day. Not sure that we will return next year. Our kids had just about as much fun at KOA last summer for half the price.

We stayed at Kozy Rest for the very first time from 6/19-6/23 at a Red Carpet RV Site and it was amazing! We have three kids ages 11, 7, and 2 and there was so many activities for them to do all day. Yes, some of them do cost extra, but I saw value in what we were getting. One thing that really impressed me was how clean and well maintained everything was. I've never been to a campground where there wasn't spiders and webs in all the corners and ceilings on the buildings and there literally wasn't any! I had to use the laundry facilities too and they were so clean and easy to use. I was also impressed by all the staff. The activities area staff were so nice and engaging with the kids, the restaurant workers were really nice and you could tell they really cared about what they were doing, and the pool staff was extremely helpful too and you could tell they were really working hard all day. We rented a cabana and the TV wasn't working properly and they fixed it really quickly and were so very nice. This is a very family-oriented campground and so yes - it was very busy on the weekend - and there were a LOT of kids - which our kids loved. They made friends easily. Once Sunday afternoon came the amount of people did greatly decrease so if you want "quieter" I'd recommend weekdays. But we loved all the families everywhere - riding bikes, chanting for Yogi, playing gaga ball, laser tag, and more. We've stayed at other Yogi Bear parks and they don't even come close to Kozy Rest! Our kids want to make it an annual tradition to come here. My only regret was I didn't sign up for Yogi rewards so with all the money we spent so I didn't earn any points, but live and learn! We are looking forward to visiting again real soon!
