What Guests Are Saying
Bush Recreation Area is praised for its beautiful campsites, clean facilities, and particularly the outstanding campground host, Darlene, who is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful to guests. Many visitors enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, opportunities for fishing, boating, and wildlife sightings, such as bald eagles. While some minor issues were noted, like long grass and maintenance concerns, the overall experience is positive, with many campers eager to return.

I stayed here for the convience of being close to home. Quiet and peaceful on weekdays...you get people fishing and playing on the water, boats, swimming, paddle boards, etc. Weekends get the campers but still very quiet. I will be using this campgrounds in the future!

the campground was very nice and clean. The camp host was considerate, kind and helpful but the fact that the boat has to be taken out of the water and loaded up is very inconvenient. I don't think we will be back because of that reason
Thank you

This is our favorite campground to visit. We usually make 1-3 trips here per year. Campground is very well kept. Darlene, the campground host, is, wonderful. She genuinely cares about the campground, and its visitors. She interacts with guest every single day. She is concerned for everyone’s safety during bad weather, and, frequently checks on guests during storms. Only thing that could be an improvement, is, to be able to have water for more than 10 seconds in the bathhouse shower

We love this campsite so close to home and yet you feel like your miles away deep in the woods. Darlene is a true gem and always is welcoming and there if you need her. We will be back and added bonus we love the bike trail in Saltsburg.

We've been to a lot of USACE parks. This one is quite nice if you're familiar and local... but, 1) They have electric-only RV sites [requiring fresh water tank filling] with the only potable water spigot far back in the tent area with a difficult-for-anyone gravel road to get there. The potable water faucet at the dump site has been out of order for years! 2) There is no office to check in and the camp host is nestled amongst other campers with a sign that cannot be seen on arrival. 3) The dump station has no signs and is barely accessible on the way out. You literally have to stumble upon it... and make a three point turn to enter.
Not a good look for USACE.

This is my third 2 week visit. It's quiet and peaceful. There are a ton of bugs here. They find their way in. Mostly flies, fruit flies and gnats. I'm in a well well insulated aluminum class A but they still get in. My lot is also flooded out every time I come here
