What Guests Are Saying
Bush Recreation Area is praised for its beautiful campsites, clean facilities, and particularly the outstanding campground host, Darlene, who is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful to guests. Many visitors enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, opportunities for fishing, boating, and wildlife sightings, such as bald eagles. While some minor issues were noted, like long grass and maintenance concerns, the overall experience is positive, with many campers eager to return.

Upon arrival at campsite at 3:30 PM, found previous party still on the site when check out is supposed to be by 11:00 AM,
was unable to set up camp 'till 5:00 PM. Recommend having Rangers patrol campsite at 11:30 to make sure campers have departed on time.
Found lots of trash in the fire ring on site #3. Restroom was relatively clean and looked to be well kept. Another recommendation would be to not let noncampers into the campground area near the lake, especially after dark, had some young, drunken fishermen making a racket one night until 1:00 AM, 30 yards from the campsite. Aside from that, it was an enjoyable trip. Fishing was decent as always, for this time of the summer. This is one of the few lakes in Pa. with a naturally reproducing White Catfish population.

Great spot for water sports like small to medium-sized boating. The bathrooms were clean and the shower was hot. Our only complaint was the tap water was very brown. It was drinkable if you're brave, but was definitely filled with sediment. We strained through a coffee filter and boiled for drinking water. The cooking water was boiled. Wash water shocked with a little bleach. Fish were not biting where we tried but others were catching catfish, bluegills, and smallmouth bass. Bring firewood.
