Beautiful setting, nice roomy site with full hook up. Short drive by bicycle to town to see the lighthouse, really nice.

The camping experience was very relaxing. The DNR personnel are very nice. The one person always had a smile on her face and waves, asked you how all was going. However, the showers were not functional or if they were functional had cold water . The restroom bldgs definitely need an upgrade. The walls are splitting apart at the corners. I hope these issues are taken care of. The outside area is in the process of upgrades which made for an increase of muddy areas. We realize this is inevitable, in time the grass will be grown and there will be less mud to deal with when it rains.
It would be nice if there was a "DOG PARK". Hopefully in the future.

I love the Tionesta campground. It is beautiful! I love that they have both water and sewage hook ups. The one down side that weekend in October that we camped was that there were no doggie bags available. We had some with us, but thankfully, we did because there were none in the park to help clean up after our dogs. I assume it was due to camping later in the season than typical, but I would still expect the same amenities we would have in the summer months. I hope you consider keeping it up later in 2022 as well. Fall camping is fun and refreshing.

Was only there for 2 nights because there were no open campsites. Had decent weather and a good site that was well maintained, even the restrooms were clean. The only problem I had was hooking up the sewer hose and making it go downhill so hose drains. The connection was set up on a raised cement pad. I realize that it would take a lot to lower the connection but just thought I would say something for future reference.

When we arrived at campground our site was occupied. The people never returned to campground until 5:30 and then still never left. We called Recreation.gov and were told we would have to contact campground rangers. We ask about changing reservations to a different site and were told we couldn’t because we were already there. They wanted me to pay for another site. Then when I got back home to apply for a refund. I have a discount pass and wouldn’t be able to get the discount on another site. Called ranger station and left a message. No one got back to me, so we set up on a site we new was empty. Our site didn’t get available until the following afternoon. We didn’t want to tear down and reset up, so we stayed on the different site. The next morning we were woke up by a ranger, pounding on our door, wanting to know if we had reservations. Went though the whole story again. But, the ranger did investigate and found out that the other person had set up on the wrong site, but that didn’t change the fact that our site was unavailable and no one did anything until the people left. Messed up our trip. What good are reservations?
