The Tionesta Creek was low and the kids were able to play in the water for much of the trip. My husband fished and I was able to read quietly by the creek. The campground was kept up very well. It does not have a camp store. However, the town of Tionesta has a grocer and several small shops with local artisans, baked goods, handmade soaps, etc.

The campgroud is beautiful. When we got there at 3:30 and there was someone on our site. i tried calling and after 35 minutes waiting to get a hold of someone the people on our site told us they were sorry they didn't realized their reservations were to be out that day. i wish you would of had workers at the front gate to resolve these issues.

Way to many DOGS in the camp. A lot of people bring two, three or more dogs. One family had 5 dogs. Some folks clean up after their animals and many don't. The man in the next site 120 said he must have bagged 5 pounds of dog poop when he arrived on Wednesday August 26. I was told the people in site 116 were visited by the Rangers twice because dog issues. As far as I could tell they never changed their bad habits. We decided to leave a day early because of all the barking. My wife and I have been family camping for fifty years and for a least half that time we had a dog. The dog ALWAYS stayed home. There was a family member, friend or neighbor who would watch they dog. This nation has gone over board on dog friendly. I hope you share this with the Pittsburgh office of the Corp of Engineers. Management of the camp grounds should be turned over to someone who cares. The Rangers act as if it is a big pain in the rear.
