What Guests Are Saying
Longleaf Campground offers a clean, spacious, and peaceful environment with well-maintained facilities and friendly staff. Visitors appreciate the short walk to the visitor center for amenities and the charming wildlife experience, including birds and other animals. However, it's important to note that there is no running water at the campground, and some sites may lack privacy due to proximity to others.

Well maintained campsite, friendly people - both guests and workers. Unfortunately the park was flooded when I visited, so I was only able to hike the 3 trails that were open. The weather was hot, but cooled slightly in the night. I wish I had only stayed 1-2 nights as I did all there was to do in one day. The boardwalk was really cool. I enjoyed seeing an alligator in the river and the bird life was great. I think this would be a perfect park to stay at for Halloween. It's a little spooky and the temperature would be much cooler then.

We enjoyed our stay at Longleaf! It was VERY hot, humid, and buggy when we set up camp, but we expected that - it’s South Carolina at the end of June. We selected site 2, which was a perfect location. The walk in from the parking lot was short and easy to access. We were glad to have brought a wagon to help us carry our stuff, though.
The only downfall of site 2 was that site 4 is set kind of behind site 2, and the people staying at site 4 sometimes walked through our site to access the trail and parking lot.
I cannot speak to the cleanliness of the vault toilets, as my daughters and I opted to drive over to the visitors center to use the bathroom that was available there. It was easy to access.

Everything is nice except the mosquito. But we can check the mosquito meter in the visitor center.

The campground is very nice, well up kept. The down side was the large group just across on the group camp side was incredibly loud with generators and speakers playing loud music until 2 am. I'm blown away that the park rangers said they could do nothing about it. Friday night, the entire individual side was full. Nearly every individual campground emptied
out the next night except for two or three.

Campsites are great - just be aware it is a 100 yard or so walk from the parking lot and vault toilets.

Lovely campground, clean and peaceful, but the hand sanitizer dispenser in the bathroom was empty during our stay.
