Overall great campsite. Just as described. Proximity to Francis Marion WMA, boat launch & tidal waters was awesome. Onsite sewage vs a dump station would have been nice but not end of the world. Sites were a great size even for a large rig. Definitely would recommend to others.

This was our 4th camping trip to Buck Hall recreation area. It’s a nice and quiet campground for a quiet getaway. I understand it is supposed to be up for renovations which it does need.

Great spot on the waterway. Nice large spots and a good boat ramp. Starting point for the Palmetto trail.

I was pleasantly surprised on how quaint the campground was upon arrival. I went to my site and an RV was already parked in the spot. I realized I had made a mistake and reserved the spot for the following night. I panicked and started searching for the host, none, they had an emergency and had to leave. I could not determine what spots were available and was on the verge of panic since it was an hour before sunset.
Along came a ranger, Miss Jo Wanda drove up and listened to me on what happened. She calmly said she could help me and next thing, I had a spot.
Relief. I’m too old to drive when it gets dark. I could not thank her enough and appreciate her kindness.
My doggies and I thank you.

Buck Hall was a physically beautiful place. The campsites were pretty level and spacious. Close to North Charleston and some beaches for day trips. McClellanville is a great little town to explore.
We did not use the showers or bathrooms as they were filthy. Our site had lots of small trash on it that l picked up. Only saw the camp host one time, then he packed up one late afternoon and left.

Buck Hall was very relaxing. We enjoyed watching the boats travel down the IC.
The staff was extremely helpful when someone was in one of our reserved spots for our family vacation. I cannot wait to return.
