We used this as a great central location to go visit the area and family. The camp hosts was great and we will no knock the conditions because we know the renovation plans and it was functional even though it was ready for the renovations. The surrounding community is awesome and we loved the trip. We will be back in the future.

Have stayed there before. This time was just as enjoyable except the flies were much larger (almost horse fly size) and the mosquitoes were terrible.

Nice, quiet, clean campground & not expensive either. We stayed here for 5 nights at a total cost of less than a one night stay at a KOA about 15 miles away. This place is right on the Intra Coastal Waterway where there are usually boats of all sizes navigating it constantly & there are benches next to the water to sit, relax & watch boats or occasionally some larger species of fish. You can also fish from the waters edge if that's your thing. Nice place, but sometimes hard to get a site.

A wonderful spot! Open sites, easy water and electric hookups, convenient dump station and dumpster.
Excellent walking in the park and on the connected Palmetto trail. My dog loved it.

Bathrooms : only one campground toilet and one shower was operational. The conditions of the bathrooms were unbearable . They were not even remotely clean as bugs had died in the water surrounding the sink top and there was such erosion of the actual sink itself I thought the water would leak to the floor. No quiet hours were observed as movies from a church group were playing until 1am. No campground hosts in sight. Had reservations for two nights and barely made it through one.

I don't want to say anything nice about the campground because I don't want any more people knowing about it

Buck Hall is just north of Charleston and the Sweetgrass Highway - so much to see and do - Charleston, the Forest Service Environmental Education Center, etc.
