Loved this place. The camp hosts were very friendly. It was peaceful and quiet. We have been traveling for 6 months and this is one of my favorites. The waterway was gorgeous.

I had no idea that the following week people would be descending on this spot since it is a good boat launch for shrimping season. I also heard that people buy up whole areas for days, weeks, full months and come and go as they please, so it may be difficult to get any spot after Labor Day (which I think is wrong, it should be something that is enjoyed and not owned, if you aren't there and nobody else can visit that is not what a camp site is all about).
I did see a number of snakes and fire ants, but in general, the grounds are pretty clean. The bathrooms had showers, changing area, warm water, and were quite nice all things considered. It's really beautiful looking out over the marsh and there are tons of kids running around having a good time.

We stayed at Buck Hall campground in September 2021. It was perfect. Site was clean and spacious, facilities were clean and easy to use, staff and other guests were friendly. I would recommend it to anyone.

The host was very helpful and knowledgeable of the area and made us feel very at home for our first time at this campground. Will definitely be returning.

We enjoyed our stay. The location is lovely and the campground and facilities are clean. Greatly enjoyed watching the boats pass by and even observed a small shark feeding on the far bank. Lots of open space between sites for games of capture the flag or throwing balls but watch out for fire ants. Most sites are shaded, but ours was not which made for a very warm breakdown. Plan to be back with our boat in the fall.
