Cap site was great, very pretty area. Good bathroom facilities. Decent hiking trails close. Rain is very regular there and almost no warning so go prepared.

This was a beautiful location. We were making the trip to do some trout fishing and just needed a primitive site with running water so it fit the bill. The facilities on the premises were very nice, clean bathroom and hot shower. My only complaint, which is for the giant wasp situation and how it was handled. Shortly after arriving and unloading our gear we were greeted by 2 very unfriendly angry giant wasps, and when I say giant I mean these things were the size of a small hummingbird. They would aggressively attack any light source and seemed attracted to any food, forcing us to go to bed shortly after sun down and finish our meals in our tents. When we got up the following morning and got the camp host he gave us a can of spray and told us there wasn't nothing else we could do. There were other spaces around us that were empty but we were told that they were listed as available on line so we couldn't just switch to a different site. Through out the day when we would try to eat we would be swarmed by 2 wasps at a time, we would run around like chickens with our heads cut off before killing them and shortly after 2 would show back up. They were very militant, methodical, and aggressive in their behavior and it was scary. Having my family live in constant fear for those 2 days, at a time when we were supposed to be relaxing and enjoying the outdoor life, was very frustrating and anxiety inducing. By the time we left on Sunday I was a frazzled mess and convinced I never wanted to go camping again, which is just heart breaking.

I've been camping @ Cherry Hill for 30+ years.
Always clean, and close to everything I love about the upstate.
"Primative" camping, with a few nice perks.
