We had a wonderful time but had to leave a day early. A Dear friend of my husband had passed away. Even though we were not going to be able to go to the funeral, between that and the rain coming, we decided to come on home. It was supposed to be raining while we would have been packing up.
The park is very clean, peaceful and relaxing. I love camping at one of the Army Corps of Engineers a lot better than State Parks. Here, there is so much room. Not at State Parks.

Very pleased. I have not been at this campground before and was really happy to see how well maintained the grounds were. Check in was very easy, and a site map was given to us with a highlighted route to our camping site. Also noticed that the facilities were cleaned and stocked everyday. Thank you to the crew at Coneross for helping make our camping trip a pleasant one. We will be returning.

We stayed at site 85. This was a primitive site on the water.
Pros:
The views were beautiful!
The campground was fairly clean
The staff were very friendly
Shady sites, lots of mature trees and the water temp was amazing!
Cons:
-The site was listed to hold up to 10. We had a 2 level site. The top level was to park (I guess) and the bottom level to sleep and eat/picnic table/fire ring. The bottom area was very small. We could fit one small tent and that was it. Our other tent needed to go on the top level with the car. The problem was that this area was full of very large sharp rocks and was not meant for a tent to go on. We had to option, so we made do. My air mattress popped in the middle of the night because it was so rocky under us. I was also afraid that a car would hit us as they drove by since the roads are so narrow and winy and our tent was set up near the road. I would say no more than a 4 person tent could fit comfortably at that particular site.
-The picnic table at this site was square and not rectangular. It could only hold 4 people. Other sites had the typical tables.
-Bathrooms did not have soap. Especially with Covid, I would think there would be soap dispensers or sanitizer readily available.
-The bathroom was a bit of a walk from our site. It was not terrible, but at night it was very dark and roads narrow and windy. I would have liked to have been in sight of the bathhouse.

If you want peace and quite, this is it! We stayed Labor Day for 9 days and moved on 3 different sites since we could only get our favorite site for 4 days. All quite, shady surrounded by friendly people. Very clean and clean bathrooms with great water pressure. Will be back!
