A nice campground, fortunately not far from home. Our site, # 46, was large and nicely shaded, although a bit of a challenge to level having a bit of side to side slant.

I absolutely love this place. It’s quiet. The facilities are really nice, the staff is SUPER sweet, and you get to sleep in a tent by a lake. There’s really not anything else to say.
A note for (Verizon) coverage. It was unfortunately really good. I only say this because I was able to stream Game 3 of the Hurricanes/Panthers playoff game. I unfortunately saw the whole thing.

We LOVED our recent stay at Coneross Park! We booked last minute (literally 15 minutes before arriving) and had the good fortune to get site #8 which is a beautiful, HUGE, level, private lake front site. Coneross offers all the things we enjoy most about camping - plenty of places to walk, bike, and kayak! I liked that it had several loops and that some areas were flat while others had some slope to them (good for exercise). Many sites were available with direct and easy access to the lake, like site 8. Other sites sit up higher and offer stunning views but make it a bit harder to actually get in the lake if you wish to swim or boat.
The campgrounds were clean and well-maintained, although we were not impressed with the bathhouses which were old and just not great. (Not an issue for us since we have our bathhouse with us! But, if you do use it, you will want to keep it in mind.) I do wish they had more access to garbage bins as the only ones are just as you are entering the campgrounds. It was an easy walk from our site, but would be a consideration if we had camped further in. Just something to consider.
Primitive campers beware! The loop for tent sites is steep and access to the lake is limited. The bathhouse requires a walk up/down the hill. I would imagine there are other places on Hartwell Lake that are preferrable if you are a tent camper.
Since we are seniors and have the America the Beautiful Lifetime Pass, it was only $19/night! Incredible value!!! We look forward to coming back again!

Nice place, but no soap or towels in the bathroom to wash and dry your hands.
