We love camping at Horsethief lake. The location is absolutely beautiful and each site has a wonderful tree canopy. The toilets were standard vault toilets. Well cleaned but can get smelly if fellow campers don’t shut the lid. Only thing that would make this spot better is a place to shower off.

We loved the campground! It was beautiful, quiet, and very centrally located to everything we wanted to see and do in South Dakota. The lake was very close & the trail around it was beautiful snd well-kept.

Great, large site right on the lake. Could barely hear my neighbors. Slept like a baby at night, so peaceful. Right next to the trail to the lake and boardwalk. The vault toilet was as clean as it could be.

We had a reservation and when we arrived were told by the host our 32’ Motorhome would not fit in site 17. False information. We fit fine.

The campground setting is beautiful, the campsites were clean, and the host was absolutely wonderful.
