What Guests Are Saying
Pactola Reservoir Campground offers beautiful, clean campsites with spacious pads suitable for larger RVs and tents, and close proximity to the scenic Pactola Lake. Camp hosts are friendly and helpful, enhancing the overall experience, while the campground provides excellent access to outdoor activities like fishing, swimming, and kayaking. Some minor downsides include uneven site entrances and occasional noise from generators, but the serene environment and stunning views make it a popular choice for campers.

This campsite was beautiful and very clean. The water was just perfect for swimming just a short walk from the site, and the bathrooms were possibly the cleanest campground outhouses I’ve seen. The host was also really cool, we had a good chat. I stay in a tent and it was really nice that quiet time was 10 pm. really nice not to have to listen to generators spinning all night as I slept without the rain fly over the tent, it was just the stars above and quiet relaxing atmosphere. This is a perfect campground. Highly recommend it!

Excellent camp sites - well spaced, private, shaded and equipped with a picnic table, fire ring. Toilets were spaced well within the campground - easily accessible without the need to pass through fellow camper's space. The water was easily accessible for those preferring water sports. The camp hosts were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We plan to make this location an annual vacation spot!

First of all, it is beautiful! If you have never been to the Black Hills, I highly recommend it. The camp hosts and the people at the marina were very friendly, and helpful. The campground is quiet. The water is so clear you can see the fish below you, and it's fun to watch the people cliff jump. If you don't have a boat, I recommend renting a pontoon for the day and taking full advantage of the lake and scenery. We had a great time!

We had a bad experience at the campground Loop A site 17. We were right behind the camp hosts, a younger couple, who had a party at their camper and partied until 3AM. Loud music and talking and shouting. Needless to say, We didn't get much sleep. The male host was also rude to our grandchildren who were crawdad hunting at night on the shore of the lake and continued to give us dirty looks the next two days we were there. We have always had a good experience before.

Camping went very well. We did have trouble making reservations back in January. I think it took about two hours to make reservations for our six camp sites. The system seems very complicated to make reservations for six sites on one credit card. Maybe it will be better next time. Thank you.

The sites are clustered together here in groups of 4-5 sites. Some sites have picnic tables that are well shaded but others are out in the open sun. We were tent campers so the open field sites weren't ideal but we made it work. It was a generally quiet campground and we were within a five minute walk to the reservoir for swimming and fishing which was awesome. Though not officially part of the site, the folks at the Marina & store were helpful as were the folks who checked us in when we first arrived. The vault toilets are fine and kept in average cleanliness.
