About Roubaix Lake
Roubaix Campground is tucked into a grove of Ponderosa pines along its namesake lake. With a popular swim beach and opportunities for non motorized boating and paddling, campsites are dispersed among four loops, and many offer lake views.
At an elevation of 5.5 ft, this camp remains comfortable on hot summer days, and sites are spaced far enough apart to offer ample privacy. This popular
camp makes a great base for exploring all the activities and attractions at the lake and in the surrounding area.

The camp ground was fine. I went swimming in the lake, also fine. The problem was, the bathroom was a disgusting, filthy, really filthy, mess, no toilet paper, none. The facility was never cleaned and paper was never replenished while I was there. I was in Loop B, don't know what the other facilities were like.

We were in site 10B. Backing into this site is difficult with a 30 ft trailer because the road is not wide enough to allow for the movement of the towing vehicle to the extent needed without running over grass and other site barriers (many before us had done this evident by the destroyed log edger). The site also has a steep slope making it difficult in the backing process as the slope makes the trailer and tow vehicle tip uncomfortably. The road around the loop is too narrow and has low hanging branches making leaving 10B difficult. Trees need removed and branches cut so vents aren't scraped off the top of trailers and driving the loop would mean having more than 2" of clearance on the curves of the loop. The road leading to the campground is also not wide enough for vehicles driving in opposite directions to pass each other and there is no shoulder to pull over onto if you encounter another vehicle.
Other than that, the stay was nice. The OHV access to the area was why we were there.

Getting There
Located on the north side of Roubaix Lake. From Rapid City, South Dakota, take Highway 385 north, then take Forest Road 255 to the campground.
Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.

- Generators are allowed from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. at non-electric campsites.
Fees & deposits
- A fee of $2 per pet per night is charged at check-in.
- Senior and Access discounts apply only to the site of the card holder; additional fees may apply for other sites reserved on the same card.
