Sheridan Lake

One of our favorite places to camp. We love the large camping sites and proximity to the lake.

Our family loves camping here. The lake access is so convenient and there are many fun activities to do on the lake. Close to town, Mt. Rushmore and Custer state park. Everything is clean and camp hosts are super friendly!

We've camped at Sheridan Lake several times. Always a pleasure. This time it was even quieter than usual. The sites (most of them anyway) are quite spacious, with lots of room between you and the neighbors. Pads can be a bit tight to get into, and some could be a bit more level. But the place it lovely, with lots of big pine trees many sites overlooking the Lake. Restrooms were some of the cleanest "outhouses" we've encountered anywhere.

We spent two nights at this campground in the Black Hills National Forest and had a fantastic stay. The campground provided a peaceful setting surrounded by the natural beauty of the Black Hills and was a great place to relax and enjoy the area. Our site worked well for our travel trailer, and we really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. It was exactly what we were hoping for from a National Forest camping experience.One thing to be aware of is that there is no dump station at the campground, so you'll want to plan accordingly. That certainly wasn't enough to take away from our experience or our rating.Overall, this was an easy five-star stay for us. Two peaceful nights surrounded by the beauty of the Black Hills made this a campground we would gladly stay at again!

Clean camp site. Easy to find. Beautiful location. Very friendly staff.

Quiet, beautiful area with short access to water. Banks were steep in most areas, but access was fairly easy. No cell service (Verizon) in campground. Potable water hose bibs did not have threads and were only a few making filling fresh water tank a little tricky. No showers or dump station. Host said water and dump station were available at a private campground in Three Forks for a fee. Pit toilets were clean and nice (for pit toilets). Sites were nice and setup well. Tables and fire pits in excellent shape, pads were not very level, but still able to get trailer ok. Bring fishing gear!

Bathrooms are very clean. Campsites, well kept. The only negative I would have is that when you pay for a campsite you shouldn’t have to pay to go to the beach.
