What Guests Are Saying
Cedar Pass Campground offers beautiful scenery and a perfect location for exploring the Badlands, with friendly campground hosts and clean, spacious sites that provide privacy. Guests enjoy excellent stargazing opportunities and convenient access to trails and facilities. However, some reviews mention outdated showers and occasional cleanliness issues in the bathrooms, as well as a lack of shade and privacy between sites. Overall, visitors appreciate the campground's charm and its proximity to the park's attractions.

The campground and all it's facilities were very clean and well maintained. Directly adjacent to the visitor center. Very convenient to the park.

Stayed at Cedar Creek Campground near visitor center and trading post with restaurant. (also saw Sage Creek Campground which has no services and is about 25 miles away).
Clean restrooms. Primitive and hookups. Hardly any trees, but that's the Badlands.
Great place to use to stay and go out to various places to see the Badlands.

Cedar pass Lodge is very close and has a great shop for snacks and drinks. The Lodge diner is a great alternative for meals. We had dinner and breakfast at the lodge. The campground was at capacity and it was amazing how quiet and polite everyone was. It helps to have crystal clear expectations: there is basically zero tree coverage, it is very dark, wind gusts can be extreme, no firepits. Each campsite has a picnic table with shade from afternoon sun. Star gazing is amazing.

Wonderful and clean campgrounds. The good cel service and wifi was a nice surprise as well. The hiking opertunities were absolutely beautiful!!
The quarter operated showers was a new idea for us. Mine was fine, and worked good, but my wife's shut off and she added more quarters and it wouldn't come back on.

We arrived after the hours the front gate was staffed, so we selected a site and purchased online. Within about 30 minutes the campground host came by to say hello, and dropped of the tag for the site showing it was reserved for our stay. Everything about the site was fine, and very happy that nobody was running their generators.

Lots to see in the park and surrounding areas. HUGE campsites. But, in this campground a lot of people walk their dogs, even from other campground locations
