Flamingo Falls Campground

This used to be a great water park but the past couple years it has gone downhill. This year the wave pool barely ran with the waves and the canyons on the lazy river weren't running the water. Last year half the amenities that were previously included with a pass became an additional charge (go carts, water boats, and miniature golf). There are 3 nice large waterslides, an awesome pirate ship set up for smaller kids, and a couple of pools with tot slide and a leapfrog bridge. Staff are very friendly and the food is good.

We had cabana 11 and the one chair was broken where you sit.. so couldn't use it. Kabana had smallest roof cover of the this group, turned out not much shade in the heat. Was a very hot day. Lines for everything. All slides, restrooms, changing place food and drinks. , They were short staffed. Longest line near wave pool for ordering food, and drinks. In line for food for 30 to 45.min. card reader machine not working part time, felt badly for the new girl taking orders. It was as if they were not prepared for the crowds. Yet the weather forecast was for 90s and hot. This is first time I've been here so didn't know what to expect. Saw there was area for campers, so this is a place one can bring an RV and stay. The pina colada icys were extremely good. Loved the lazy river! And wave pool. Thought there would be a break where they pause the wave machines but they didn't. One thing they were short staffed on was life guards. They were everywhere! Would I go again? Yes. Under more normal hot conditions but not this extreme. They have a lot for all ages. Toddler area with fountains and slides. Clinging jingle gym type with slides for 4 to 8 yr olds. A pool with floatable challenges up to 4 ft water, and then 2 vertical slides, couple of slides u go down on tubes, plus what I call toilet bowl enclosed tube. Lazy river has fountains and waterfalls and bridge info under... Plan on getting wet!

Bummed to say I was so disappointed in our WWW visit. Coming from someone who grew up in Sioux Falls, WWW used to be our favorite spot to spend a hot summer day and it was such a treat to be able to go. Not sure what’s going on, but the wave pool was GREEN, and lifeguards closed it for just under 2 hours on 7/6 for “cleaning”? Waves are very small compared to the past.

Full trash cans… they were full from open till we left. The swim up bar was closed. Admission used to let you go into the adventure park at no extra cost if i remember correctly, and now is an extra expense.

Looks like the water slides and bottoms of pools had some sort of mineral build up, they were brown. Overall, it doesn’t look like the park has changed/been upgraded/properly maintained in quite some time.

All that to say that our kids enjoyed their visit, so it wasn’t all for nothing. I can understand it was a holiday weekend and maybe being short staffed on a Monday, but I really was hoping to see the park in better condition.

WWW has really gone downhill. Used to be a destination place for the family. Now the pools are all green, paint is peeling in the baby pool. Closed for 9months, should be easily able to do renovation during that time. Baby pool is missing all the foam padding at the bottom of the slides so your child will scrape their bottom over and over. Hopefully they don’t go off the side of the whale slide since the foam is completely done. The fish slide has fiberglass bottom showing so pray your kid doesn’t get glass in their leg. On the pirate play area, in order to access any of the slides you have to walk across a rope bridge that’s help together by loose cord someone tied to half fix. Multiple holes on the sides my child could fall though. This is a wrongful death suit waiting to happen. We can do better www!!! I enjoyed coming here as a kid and would love my kids to enjoy it but we will not be back this season due to safety and health concerns.

We've been season pass holders for the past couple of years and have always enjoyed coming here. Unfortunately, this year I've noticed a significant decline in the overall condition and maintenance of the park.
The biggest concern was the toddler splash pad. It appears to have been recently repainted, but the paint is already peeling off in chunks and floating in the water. In any area that's used by babies and toddlers, that's simply not acceptable.
The women's restrooms also need attention. Several of the toilets don't flush properly, and at least one sink near the wave pool doesn't work at all. The stairs leading up to the water slides have visible rust in multiple areas... not just a little surface rust, but enough that it made me question whether the structures are being maintained appropriately.
Another disappointment this year is the lack of readily available drinking water. In previous years, there were water coolers available for guests. Now, if you want a cup of water, you're often stuck waiting in the food line, which can easily take 20 minutes or more on busy days.
The food service area could also use a better system for distributing orders. Currently, staff call out menu items rather than order numbers. On our last visit, I ordered a burger meal, stepped away briefly to grab a straw, and when the order was called, another guest who had ordered after me picked it up. A simple number system would help avoid confusion.
There are also wasp nests under the bridge in the lazy river area that should be addressed for guest safety.
On a positive note, the lifeguards seem attentive and engaged. They do a great job enforcing safety rules, preventing running, and monitoring guests in the wave pool and other attrac tions. Their presence was noticeable and appreciated.
I want this park to succeed, which is why this review is disappointing to write. It feels like the park is bringing in plenty of visitors, but the facility itself isn't receiving the level of maintenance and reinvestment it needs. Unless significant improvements are made, I likely won't be renewing our season passes next year.
