We stay at Cottonwood once a year and always enjoy our time there! Wish they had water hook ups at each site, but the area where you get water and dump is very very nice! The campground is beautiful! The only downside is we are always there early June and the cottonwood trees are shedding so jacks up our allergies. But that’s just a personal thing…

Nice campground with a variety of sites some shorter most long enough for most campers.
Well spaced sites with mostly roomy areas around campsite. Disc golf course next to campground which is great. showers are kept clean. Only problem with the south shower house is the shower head spray is like a sandblaster. Barely usable. Other than that nit pick its a wonderful campground.

Campground was well maintained with clean restrooms and shower area.
Fire pit cleaned out before I was at my spot. Camp host was friendly and answered any questions.
Park ranger patrolled the area numerous times .
Lake Yankton at the campground offering fishing, swimming, kayaking and SUP if you bring them. Fishing the Missouri River and Lewis and Clark lake close by .
Miles of asphalt bike- walk trails.
My go to camp for 50 years.

Campground is very well maintained, shower house was clean with plenty of how water for taking showers. Their is a lake for fishing and kayaking, also a larger lake on the other side of the dam for recreational boating and fishing. Just down the road is the Dam and Missouri river for more fishing. We always have an enjoyable experience at this campground, and hope we can have many more camping trips there.

Very quiet and peaceful visit. Loved being able to walk over to the Day Use spot from the campground. Would be an added asset if the two were connected with a riverfront walkway. Love staying at Cottonwood!
