What Guests Are Saying
Lock A campground is well-maintained and offers beautiful river views, spacious sites, and friendly hosts, making it an enjoyable place for camping. Visitors appreciated the cleanliness of the facilities, good connectivity, and access to water activities like kayaking. While the narrow and steep road to the campground and some dated bathroom facilities were mentioned as drawbacks, overall experiences were positive, with many guests eager to return.

We have stayed here before and love this campground. It’s quiet and well cared for, we love camping on the water and watching the boats and wildlife. The camp sites are spacious and have electric and a nice fire pit. The tables are concrete and the restrooms are clean.

Our stay here was absolutely amazing! Wonderful staff and campsites, miss Pam was so accommodating and made our stay so much better. My only complaint was that they were close to eachother, but we got ours last minute so we didn't have the choice for a better one.

This is a wonderful location along the Cumberland River. We enjoyed the abundance of wildlife including the bald eagle and great blue heron as they fished for their meal. The barges and cruise ships were interesting to see. This is a beautiful well maintained campground. The campground hosts were very helpful and dedicated to keeping the campground safe and enjoyable. We are definitely coming back!

We just spent a week at Lock A and had a great time. It was hot all week but we had a shady spot which helped except for the trees were dripping a lot of sap. We have been there 3 times before and never had that happen. Just the time of year and it was extremely hot. I finally got my roof and slide toppers cleaned up today. Other than the sap we had a great week. My wife likes to go to antique stores, well really any kind of store. Clarksville is about 25 mi away and has several. Nashville is about 40 mi away and has lots of things to do. If you have a boat with you you are in luck. You are right on the Cumberland River on the up side of Cheatam Dam. Up river to Nashville and lock down stream and you can go to Clarksville or all the way to Barkley Dam.

One of our favorite campgrounds. Everything is very clean and the bathrooms are the cleanest we have ever seen. Pam, the overseer, is great! She is very nice and friendly! Will definitely be going back.
