About Defeated Creek Park

Defeated Creek Park Campground sits along the banks of Cordell Hull Lake on the Cumberland River System, just seven miles from Carthage, Tennessee. The lake was named after Cordell Hull, a politician that was born in the foothills of the Cumberland Mountains. We had a mostly level site. There is little to no privacy between sites. The campground is beautifully maintained and staff is friendly. The access to a washer and dryer is a plus.

One of the nicest COE parks that we've been to. There was a slight uphill incline to get to the level part of the site, but that was really no issue at all. even though it was not right on the water, the elevated site had a great water view, and if it were a bit warmer and we had our kayaks with us there was a clear path to the lake to put them in without encroaching on anyone's site. We'll definitely be back (if we can ever find some availability!).

I wish the campground had better WIFI. In today’s environment it is a necessity. I can’t understand why the Corp doesn’t run the network through out the campground’s.

It was very nice, once you got to the Campsite, the trip to the Campsite was very scary, the road was too narrow for two way traffic. I love the Campsite overall.
