About Defeated Creek Park

Defeated Creek Park Campground sits along the banks of Cordell Hull Lake on the Cumberland River System, just seven miles from Carthage, Tennessee. The lake was named after Cordell Hull, a politician that was born in the foothills of the Cumberland Mountains. the campsite and campground were above what was expected on our first time at the campground. T he only complaint is minor that internet and cell were iffy but got around it. Looking forward to making new reservations.

Defeated creek is a wonderful park. It is by far one of our favorite campgrounds. Grounds are always clean and orderly along with no trash. I just wish they would put a stop to all the golf carts and off road vehicles. Personally witnessed people riding off the road and down by the beach in a couple. This will only tear up the grounds after a while. Driving them too fast puts the kids as well as adults at risk on the road. Bicycles are really the only thing that should be allowed.

It was a good trip even if the weather wasn’t. Was hoping WiFi would be better this time need to definitely upgrading that. Bathhouse was clean big plus and sites were too. Looking forward to coming back.
