About Defeated Creek Park

Defeated Creek Park Campground sits along the banks of Cordell Hull Lake on the Cumberland River System, just seven miles from Carthage, Tennessee. The lake was named after Cordell Hull, a politician that was born in the foothills of the Cumberland Mountains. Site 76 is perfect for our big rig. View from our site to the lake isn't blocked which was nice. Nearby hiking trail that is definitely a must during the fall season. Hostess was awesome.

Beautiful lake views with plenty of green space to walk. Campground is kept clean but the bathrooms need maintenance and updating. No camp store.

The campground was under a burn ban that I was unaware of until I arrived after driving over an hour. I usually cook over an open fire was not prepared.

Defeated Creek is one of our favorite go-to places to camp. The campground is beautiful with large grassy lots and well maintained. The hosts are friendly and helpful when you need them. There is a beautiful lake for swimming and other water activities during the summer, but the best part is just relaxing under the big trees.

Defeated Creek is a real nice camp ground. the wifi was weak so while it was raining and wind blowing cold couldn't get Apple TV to work and phone signal was weak there also. I couldn't get my satellite to connect because of the trees in the way. (but we need the trees for the shade. I will pick my camp site better next time.
